In light of the events in the world, I ask this question: Where is the church of the Lord Jesus Christ, and what are we doing?

I think we have become so much like the world, we have lost the ability to impact our culture for Christ. It appears our leaders are more concerned with prestige and position than with the souls of men. There once was a time when we sought to be at the feet of Jesus and search for the heart of God. Now we strive to be on the more popular television and radio stations. Where is the anointing anymore?

We should be walking in power and in the presence of our Lord. Yet, it appears we have no power. Our prophets often miss the will of God, and our leaders seem more interested in crowds rather than the glory of the Lord.

Paul teaches the Roman believers,

“The creation waits in eager expectation for the sons of God to be revealed.” - Romans 8:19 (NIV)

I wonder what prevents the church from being revealed to the world? Jesus said we are the salt of the earth and the light of the world, and I wonder if we are doing a good job with that responsibility.

The world is in terrible shape, and there seems to be no hope at all. What must we do to represent Christ? I invite your response at pastorlambert@betheldeliverance.org.

"Now, therefore, I pray thee, if I have found grace in thy sight, shew me now thy way, that I may know thee, that I may find grace in thy sight: and consider that this nation is thy people. And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest. And he said unto him, If thy presence go not with me, carry us not up hence" (Exodus 33:13-15 KJV). "And he said, I beseech thee, shew me thy glory" (Exodus 33:18 KJV).

One of the most exciting things about relationships is when you learn more about the other person. Who we encounter at the beginning of the relationship changes as time goes by. The person we meet later may draw us closer or further away. This is the wonder of connection. The longer we are with someone, we will discover many new things: some good and some not so good. We must determine how we are going to adjust to the changes they demonstrate and get closer to them and love them more.

Our Bible passage is one of my all-time favorites. Moses makes some of the most interesting statements made by anyone in the Holy Bible. He asks to know God. I wonder if we have the same desire? Do we want to know God, or do we simply wish for the things in His hands of blessings over His heart of love? He then says if the presence of the Lord does not go with him, he (Moses) does not want to leave the place where he encounters the Lord. Now that is something unique. How often we want something bigger or better without making sure the Lord will be with us in the new venture. Moses then asks the Lord to show him the glory of God. Now, this is the icing on the cake. God, I want to see you for who you really are. I am so hungry for you, I want to risk it all and see you in full glory.

My friend, have you reached that place in God? Are you more concerned about the things of God, such as ministry, work, position, or do you desire to see the glory of the Lord? I hunger for the presence of God, and I am willing to forsake anything to feel the warmth of His love and the power of His presence. Take the attitude of Moses and ask for the heart of God. Remember, the things of this life will pass away, and only what is done for Christ will stand in the day of judgment.

Love God, always!
